The idea is original in and of itself; where else would you find a man-made archipelago of islands shaped like a world map? The World Islands<\/a> have a lot of opulent hotels and eateries that are not to be missed. And without actually traveling to the other continent, this is arguably the fastest and least expensive way to do so! Where else could you claim to have traveled to every continent in a single day?<\/span><\/p>\n

The Past of Dubai Work Island<\/b><\/h3>\n

The marvelous idea of the world’s Islands originated from the famous Dubai ruler called Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The project development was undertaken by Nakheel Group, a company famous for building and constructing a number of real estate buildings in the city. And the final construction aspect was taken care of by the same company that built Palm Jumeirah, i.e., Van Oord and Boskalis. The construction of the 300-island group started in 2003, but because of financial difficulties, it had to be halted in 2008. Only about two or three of Dubai’s world islands are currently fully operational and available for commercial use, and there have been reports that the islands may be sinking back into the ocean as a result of an inadequate foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n
